Adopted teen shares hope and encouragement for other teens, families wanting to adopt

November is National Adoption Month

For many parents, the path of adoption might look like bringing a newborn baby home. But teenagers actually make up 21 percent of those waiting to be adopted in the foster care system. That’s why Adopt US Kids wants to remind you that all kids need a supportive, loving family, especially in their teenage years.

Tawanna Brown and her siblings were adopted out of the foster care system when she was a teenager. She talked with Payton Walker about her story and the impact adoption has on the lives of those involved.
