HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - Being a high school senior can be daunting. You have college applications to fill out, finals to ace, and scholarships to apply for. But, one local high schooler is taking it all on, plus giving back to his community in a special way.
Landon Bruski is truly doing it all. He serves as the National Honor Society President at Madison County High School. He also leads the Madison County tennis team as the Varsity Team Captain. He’s a marathon runner, a professional website designer, and was elected as Alabama Boys State Lieutenant Governor. All while spending time at the local animal shelter and food bank.
Alongside the 40+ members of the National Honor Society at MCHS, Landon helped raise $500 for Huntsville Animal Services. He sees value in helping community entities that might not otherwise get a spare pair of hands. He hopes that through this donation, they can help animals in need find their forever home.
After moving to the area from Michigan two years ago, he arrived at his new school with the hope of contributing as much as he could. He wanted to learn from other students and leave a lasting legacy in the school’s organizations.

Last summer, one of his key points as Alabama Boys State Lieutenant Governor was ending hunger. After advocating for it on a national stage with Senator Katie Britt he knew this was something that needed to be fought for locally. So, NHS packaged over 6,000 meals to be delivered locally.

Landon says that his love and passion for volunteering started at a young age. His mom encouraged him to get involved with his church’s volunteer programs and from there, it grew.
