HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - Huntsville is home to many amazing non-profits, but one in particular is working to create a better future for its children.
The Huntsville Learning Center is volunteer-based and centers its mission around the Word of Christ. It provides children from Kindergarten through 9th grade with a highly structured, disciplined after-school program from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday during the school year. In the summer, they provided two summer camp programs in June and July.
The program is supported by its generous volunteers that model the love of Jesus and His faithfulness by building relationships with their students.
“We are called to love the Lord and to love one another; therefore, we believe that a relationship with Jesus and with one another is foundational in all that we do and say.”
The Huntsville Learning Center relies on volunteers called to serve in their community. They need tutors for homework help, mentors for our fitness and gardening programs, and groups willing to provide regular meals. Click here to learn more, or contact them at connect@hsvlc.org or 256-536-4400.
