HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - Abbie Stockard was crowned Miss Alabama 2024 this past Saturday.

Having competed in the Miss Alabama Organization for three years, Abbie has served as Miss Auburn, Miss Cahaba Valley, Miss Trussville, and Miss Hoover. Now holding the state title, she will compete for the crown of Miss America, representing Alabama, later this year.
Abbie has danced her entire life and is now a member of the Tiger Paws Dance Team at Auburn University. She says that the talent portion was her favorite part of competing for Miss Alabama.

On the Miss Alabama stage, Abbie performed a contemporary dance to “You Say,” by Lauren Daigle. Having choreographed the number herself, the dance was very important to her.
My grandmother picked out the song before she passed away. She would always say ‘Abbie, when you hear this song, I want you to remember that you are loved, you are strong, you are worthy and I want you to get on that Miss Alabama stage and remind people that...’ I got on that stage and that’s exactly what I did.

In addition to winning Miss Alabama, she also took home two preliminary awards- winning in the evening gown and talent categories.

Her yearlong reign as the state title holder began immediately. She will spend the next year making appearances, working within local communities, speaking, and so much more. Abbie’s community service initiative, Be the Change: Find a Cure — Cystic Fibrosis Awareness, was inspired by her best friend, who lives with the disease.
Growing up, I saw first-hand the detrimental effects that this disease had on her physical and mental health. I will never forget seeing my best friend lying helpless in a hospital bed, hooked up to oxygen. It sparked a fire in me at a young age.

Throughout her years in pageants, she has been working towards a cure. This past year, Abbie was able to hold her very own fundraiser, raising $190,000 that went to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Alabama. She cannot wait to see what the next year will hold for her initiative and for Cystic Fibrosis research.
I truly want to touch the lives and hearts of the people of Alabama...I’ve found that I truly have the greatest fulfillment when I’m able to give up myself to others. I also want to carry on the ultimate mission of this organization, which is to empower young women.
