HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - The Tennessee Valley is home to many things that make it unique. One of the biggest drawing factors right now is the growing live music scene that is giving local artists new opportunities to showcase their talent. There’s stardom to be found in every corner of the area, and we’re highlighting it through the series, ‘Sounds of the Valley.’
Aaron Stapler is a guitarist, vocalist, and producer who is making his mark on the local scene. From collaborations right here in the Valley to gigs that take him outside of the area, he knows his way around the industry. Aaron says a love for music is a quality that is deeply rooted in his family. He says generations before him were musically inclined and the tradition is living on through him.
“My dad played, he was a musician. His dad was a musician. I’m sure his dad was probably a musician as well. My aunt on his side was a musician. So, you just grow up around music...”

Aaron says that while he enjoys performing his songs and supporting others on stage, he also has a passion for helping other artists bring their projects to life from behind the scenes. He has been helping other musicians produce songs.
The life of a musician can sometimes be unpredictable and fast-moving. When you add a family at home into the mix, it’s something that can be hard to handle. It’s a fact that Aaron knows all too well. However, he says that the support and encouragement of his wife, Becca, helps make life navigating the music industry easier to manage.
“When I first started talking to Becca, when we first met and toyed with the idea of dating, I told her ... ‘I need you to understand if you’re going to date a musician, it’s gonna be a journey. It ain’t gonna be like everybody else.’”

As the old saying goes, the rest is history. The couple now shares two daughters together. While speaking about fatherhood, Aaron said that while he never wanted to push his passion for the industry onto his children, they both may also have a knack for music!

Aaron also shared some advice for aspiring musicians who are making their own journeys through the industry.
“You gotta grind every day as hard as you can...as well as ignoring the negativity. The second thing is don’t be afraid.”

He says staying positive during the rough patches and staying true to who you are as a musician is the key to making strides in the industry.
