HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - On this edition of ‘Sounds of the Valley,’ local engineer turned singing sensation Kason Henderson, aka Mil Music, is in the spotlight!
He’s a Huntsville native who’s always had a love for the arts throughout his life, but he officially launched his career in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a time when many artists were on hiatus, but he felt inspired to lean into his passion for music with full force.
You know the times that we’re going through now. Life is so short. If I’m going to do this, I need to do it now. And, I need to do it while I have a passion. I think it was the greatest thing I’ve ever done.

Mil Music is an R&B artist whose journey blends his Southern roots, professional career, and love for music in a uniquely inspiring way. His soulful and velvety voice has made him shine brightly on stages all across the area, including at The Orion Amphitheater, Concerts in the Park, and The Camp at MidCity. He says having the opportunity to showcase his talent to the community brings him joy that he hopes spreads to his audience.
Every single time I get on stage, that’s the kind of energy I’m trying to get everyone in the crowd to have. That same smile, probably as big as mine, you know, and dance and fun, because that’s who I am.
Aside from significant changes in his career, his life also transformed on the personal forefront. He is married to Heard First Huntsville creator and fellow entertainer Sharona Henderson; the first artist featured on ‘Sounds of the Valley’ in 2024.
Being married to her is absolutely amazing. You know, just to find that person that can make you smile just as much as music does.
He’s also a proud father of two. He says finding the balance between family, music, and engineering is a worthwhile challenge.

Aside from performing live on stage, Mil Music also brings personal and heartfelt moments to life by singing telegrams. It’s a unique service he has to offer our area.
No one’s doing that around here. I’m thinking about things that I could do to put smiles on people’s faces.
From birthdays to anniversaries and every celebration in between, Mil Music can add surprises and songs to whatever special occasion you have in mind.
Mil Music gave an intimate performance of his song “Water” from “The Heard First Teal Album.”
[It] talks about how powerful love is, you know, and how it can heal and how it can restore. The water represents the person that revives you when you are down.
