HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - Members of The CornerStone Initiative joined Tennessee Valley Living to talk about how they helping families navigate poverty.
The nonprofit’s mission is to support and equip individuals on their journey from “crisis to stability and ultimately to transformation.”
The group also provides core programs that are designed to meet people where they are.
The programs are:
- Jobs for Life – An 8-week course that equips participants with work-readiness skills and confidence to pursue employment
- Faith & Finances - Teaches biblical principles for managing money and building financial stability
- Amplify - A year-long mentoring cohort where participants get ongoing support and accountability to achieve long-term goals
- ReBoot: Trauma Recovery - A 12-week group experience that helps individuals process and heal from trauma
- Access to affordable mental health counseling is also available
Executive Director of The CornerStone Initative Debbi Akers and Cornhole Event Chair Rachel Guthrie joined TVL to talk more about the initiative and an upcoming fundraiser for the programs.

Cornhole for CornerStone will be held on April 17 at Campus 805. The family-friendly tournament raised funds for the programs previously mentioned.
