(TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - “EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!”
While those words were made famous by C+C Music Factory circa 1990, they’re still carrying weight today -- in part by John Drury, also known as The Dancing Trucker.
“I’ve been a dancer going back to the mid-80s,” says John. “The neighborhood I was in... that’s kind of what we did. We didn’t necessarily fight with fists; we had dance battles with each other.”
Later on, John decided to bring his old skool moves to the real world, and as a truck driver covering hundreds of miles, he knew he couldn’t let life on the road hold him back.
“I found dance fitness, and I didn’t realize anything like that existed,” says John. “I just took full advantage of that and started going to 2-3 classes a week. Ultimately, I ended up losing 100 pounds in a year’s time.”

Fast forward to now, John makes viral dancing videos to encourage other people in their physical fitness as well as mental health journeys.
“I really just want to make people smile,” says John. “There’s so much negativity out there, just a little bit of positivity in someone’s day may make a big difference.”
