HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - A pair of shoes. A new coat. A bottle of shampoo and conditioner. These are just a few items many wouldn’t consider too noteworthy to own. However, for some local students, receiving these and other everyday items makes a world of difference.
The Caring Link, a local non-profit, is on a mission to ensure kids in our area have access to what they need during school hours and once they leave campus.
President Kate O’Neal stopped by the studio to talk more about the mission of The Caring Link and an opportunity for the organization to win money to continue its community efforts!
The Caring Link has installed several care closets in nearly two dozen schools across the area. These closets are packed with all types of items, from hygiene supplies to brand-new clothes and shoes for students who need them.
O’Neal is one of only four candidates up for the NASCAR Foundation’s Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award! She’s the only candidate from Alabama. The winner of this award will secure $100,000 in funding for their charity. An online vote determines the recipient.
