HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - Looking for a way to keep kids entertained with no screens involved? Local STEAM expert Shelby Vaughn is showing how a pipe cleaner and beads can teach kids the power of coding.
“We’re seeing that going into middle school, kids are having math anxiety,” says Shelby. “So being able to start early and do these projects... They can be confident in learning to solve problems.”
With a color-based numbers chart, young learners can use the crafting materials to understand the basics of computer language and the importance of following a pattern.
Check out the how-to video attached, and keep up with more of Shelby’s fun STEAM ideas here!
