HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - A local organization is fostering a safe space for young adults with special needs and/or disabilities to grow and thrive!
Founder & Executive Director of Patterson Place, Emma Little, and program participant Brian stopped by the studio to discuss the program’s offerings and its impact on not only the participants (also referred to as “citizens” by the program) but also on the broader community they serve.
Citizens of Patterson Place work together to create beautiful works of art, as well as tasty treats like fudge, dog treats, and other items that are sold locally.
Some of the main goals of the program are to provide a learning environment for adults living with special needs and/or disabilities, where they can acquire new skills, build their sense of self-worth, form strong bonds with others, and engage positively with their community.
The dynamic duo also highlighted an upcoming Open House. It is scheduled for December 12 from 10 AM to 6 PM at 4217 9th Ave SW, Ste. 25, in Huntsville.

The event gives the community a chance to learn more about Patterson Place, explore their space, meet staff and citizens, watch how they produce their goods, and, of course, a chance to buy some of those handmade items!
