Highlighting Women of True Grit: Meet Melinda MeGahee

Women of True Grit: Melinda MeGahee

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - In this edition of ‘Women of True Grit,’ host Edie Hand shines a spotlight on the backstory of Melinda MeGahee.

MeGahee grew up in a family that placed a strong focus on helping others, with her mother, Dr. Brenda Lovelady Spahn, always opening their home to those in need. Her mother’s passion for others, including her work in prison ministry, eventually led to the creation of what she calls “a whole-way house.”

The Lovelady Center in Birmingham offers a Christ-centered, 9- to 12-month residential life program that helps women transitioning out of prison by providing a stable foundation for them to restart their lives.

MeGahee is doing her part to continue her mother’s mission.
