HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - Adults living with Autism may find that when it comes to certain aspects of life, like fitness, there may not be many resources catered to their specific needs. A new program, created by adults with Autism, for adults with Autism, aims to address the issue.
Tanner Smith, star of Netflix’s ‘Love on the Spectrum,’ and his mother, Nicci, a fitness advocate dedicated to Autism inclusion, checked in with TVL host Payton Walker to discuss a free, inclusive wellness series called Autism Fit.
Together, they bring energy, empathy, and expertise to help autistic adults build strength, confidence, and independence.
The program focuses on calm, clear guidance—no loud noises, no chaos, and no confusing cues—creating a stress-free environment where participants can move at their own pace. Every workout adapts to individual needs, ensuring there’s no “one way” to participate.
Accurate representation is at the heart of Autism Fit. Sessions are led by autistic adults and neurodivergent mentors, making the experience authentic and welcoming.
