HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - AARP is on a mission to make the lives of older people and the communities they live in more accessible and safe.
Jamie Harding with AARP discussed how the group’s Community Challenge Grants are helping make a difference in the areas they serve.
Recently, Huntsville Botanical Garden was a recipient of the grants, which provided funding for the garden to purchase mobility scooters and install benches to make the area more accessible.
Applications for project ideas open in mid-January 2026.
