Soon, the King of Rock & Roll will be honored with a tribute concert led by a music icon in his own right.

Country singer Ronnie McDowell joined TVL host Payton Walker to chat about an upcoming performance paying tribute to Elvis, set for the Historic Bama Theatre in Tuscaloosa on February 13. McDowell is known for his hit song, “The King is Gone,” as well as dozens of other singles that have charted.

In addition to his own chart success, Ronnie became known as “the voice of Elvis” in more than 30 television and film productions, including the 1979 television movie ‘Elvis’ starring Kurt Russell and the series ‘Elvis and Me’.

During the Genuine Elvis concert, McDowell will perform with other musicians, including Billy Blackwood, son of one of the Blackwood Brothers, a legendary gospel singing group, and who also played drums for Elvis. Also performing at the concert is Ronnie’s son, Tyler Dean McDowell.
