HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - Cooking to support an important local cause- that’s the goal of the annual Rocket Chef Culinary Competition.
Rocket Chef Committee & Co-Host Josh Patrick and Merrimack Board of Directors Member Gary Henderson stopped by the studio to share the details of this year’s competition!
The Rocket Chef competition is a “Chopped”-style event in which local chefs compete in three rounds (appetizer, entrée, dessert) with mystery ingredients. Participating local chefs this year include:
- Chef Ryan Yokely of The Southern Table
- Chef Sam Buchanan of The Revivalist
- Chef Mari Wandler of St. Paddy’s Wagon Food Truck
- Chef Montana, who works as a private chef
The event is on February 9, 2026, at the Von Braun Center’s Mars Music Hall, with the live competition starting at 6:30 PM.
Proceeds from the ticketed event will support Merrimack Hall. The organization provides performing arts education and cultural activities to children and adults with special needs. From art classes to adult day programs and summer camps, Merrimack offers supplemental services for so many across the region.
