Southerland is the CEO of Good Grit, a magazine that celebrates authentic stories of the South. Her love for being an entrepreneur came from her grandfather Sam, who was also her first mentor.
Facing hard times during her early years of entrepreneurship, Samantha Southerland did not let depression get the best of her. She continued on to obtain her MBA in Project Management from Auburn University and has since started a consulting business alongside her husband.
