HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - North Alabama’s DJ Lashay B of 103.1 WEUP has a passion for more than just bringing music to the airwaves; she also gives back to her community in more ways than one. For more than a decade, she has made it her mission to ensure local girls can find a dress they love that will make them shine on one of the most memorable nights of their high school career.
The first year of Lashay B’s Prom Dress Drive brought in maybe a dozen donations. Over the years, that number has grown to reach more than a thousand donated dresses that cover a wide range of styles and sizes- ensuring that virtually every girl has an option that they’ll fall in love with!
DJ Lashay B stopped by the studio to share the details about this year’s prom dress drive while also playing a fun music trivia game of some songs that were a hit for high school dances over the decades!

DJ Lashay B had an extended appearance, returning later in the show to discuss the impact of the dress drive over the years and what’s to come in 2026! She also invited a few local students to model a few of the dress styles they’ll have available for girls in the area very soon.

The last day to donate a dress is March 13.

The free event where girls can go home with the perfect prom dress is happening Saturday, March 14, at the Bob Harrison Center from 11 AM to 1 PM. The day will also include other services that will enhance local students’ prom night looks and experience!
