HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - A reality show years in the making is now streaming on the Remy Network, taking viewers inside the world of Huntsville’s beauty scene.
“More Than Hair: Huntsville” follows the lives of local salon owners and stylists.
Ashley Lanier, owner of Elements of Salon 721 and the show’s executive producer, and Jai Love, owner of Locs by Love and a show cast member, sat down with TVL Producer Shanika Wright to chat about how the show came to be.
Lanier said the idea came from clients who frequented the salon, saying that their lively energy and interesting lives should be a show.
After years of pitching the idea, The Remy Network, a free video streaming platform launched in November 2025 by Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma, picked up the show.

The show made history as the Remy Network’s first original reality show.
“More Than Hair: Huntsville” aims to show both the highs and lows of the beauty industry.
Lanier and Love shared that the show offers an authentic look at their lives.
The first season is coming to a close, but the cast said more is on the way as season two is already in the works.
