Heartbaker Bakery owner shares how to make cookie dough croissants

MADISON, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - With a motto that says “baked with love,” and a backstory behind the business that’s just as sweet, Heartbaker Bakery is reaching the soul of the city, one treat at a time!

Owner Lucia Lissandrelli stopped by the TVL kitchen to share her recipe for Cookie Dough Croissants.

The recipe is as follows:

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of chocolate chip cookie dough (HeartBaker)
  • 4 butter Croissants (HeartBaker)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions:

1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over high heat until the mixture reaches a gentle boil and forms a light syrup. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

2. Slice each croissant horizontally, as if preparing a sandwich. Lightly dip the cut sides of each croissant into the syrup.

4. Arrange the prepared croissants on a baking tray.

HeartBaker Bakery is a family-owned bakery. Lucia’s journey as a mother and her experience of raising a daughter born with a congenital heart condition were driving forces behind the business.
