Captain D’s 2026 Castin’ N’ Catchin’ Tournament hooks support for pediatric heart care

2026 Castin' N Catchin' Fishing Tournament coming in late April

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - At Goose Pond Colony Resort along the shores of Lake Guntersville, fishing lines won’t be the only thing making waves in 2026. The Captain C’s Castin’ N’ Catchin’ Fishing Tournament is bringing together community, compassion, and competition for a powerful cause.

Founded by four dedicated families, the annual tournament was created to give back to the Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center at Children’s of Alabama. What started as a shared passion for fishing has grown into a meaningful mission to support children facing serious heart conditions.

Anglers from across the region will gather not just to reel in big catches, but to make a real difference. 100% of money from sponsors go directly to Children’s of Alabama. The first $15,000 raised every year gets set aside for WIRED Together Camp, a camp for children with a congenital heart defect and their families to build a community of people who understand their conditions. This year, the foundation is on track to reach their goal of $250,000.

Though registration is now full, there are still ways to donate to the cause. Purchase your Captain D’s Castin’ N’ Catchin’ apparel here.
