HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - As high school seniors prepare for graduation and the exciting transition to college life, one local seminar is helping families focus on something often overlooked- important legal paperwork.
Family First Estate Planning will be hosting the “Adulting 101″ seminar on June 5, 2026, from 3 PM to 4 PM at 600 Boulevard South, Huntsville, AL 35802. It will cover Healthcare Power of Attorney, HIPAA Authorization, and Durable Financial Power of Attorney- three documents that can make a major difference in emergencies or unexpected situations. Once a student turns 18, parents no longer automatically have access to medical information or the ability to make healthcare decisions on their students’ behalf.
Organizers of the seminar say that many families focus so much on dorm shopping and class schedules that they forget the legal side of preparing for college. This seminar aims to give students and parents a peace of mind before move-in day which should help them feel better prepared not just for campus life, but for real life too,
