The power of poetry: E. Bailey discusses how the written word can evoke real emotion

Published poet E. Bailey shares her story and pointers for writing poetry

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - The words on a page have the power to transport you to a completely new world and can awaken emotions in their truest forms. Poet E. Bailey knows all too well how the written word can serve not only as entertainment but as a way to release inner feelings as they flow.

Bailey stopped by the studio to share more about how she fell in love with the art form of poetry. After losing both her brother and her mother to suicide as a teen, Bailey’s outlet for that immense amount of grief was writing poetry.

She has since become a published poet. Her second collection of poems, called “A Living Thing,” is available on Amazon.

With more than a decade of experience under her belt, she is now sharing her expertise with other local writers looking to put pen to paper to create their own poetry.

Bailey hosts workshops where people can start or continue their journey into poetry.
