HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - Still4Life is partnering with 100 Black Men of Greater Huntsville for an amyloidosis outreach event taking place on May 21 during the organization’s annual health fair. The event will focus on raising awareness about amyloidosis, a rare disease that occurs when abnormal proteins build up in organs and tissues, often going undiagnosed for years.
Former NFL player Art Still is expected to attend and help raise awareness of the importance of early detection, education, and community health advocacy. Organizers say the outreach effort connects residents with information, resources, and conversations surrounding health disparities and access to care.
The annual health fair will also feature wellness resources, screenings, and community engagement opportunities to promote healthier lifestyles across the Huntsville area.
The event is happening at Calhoun Community College’s Huntsville campus, with a Breakfast beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by a panel featuring Art, his wife, Liz, and Huntsville cardiologist Kaushik Jain. The health fair will run from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. It is free to attend.
