  • 2 1/2 cups Arrowhead Mills Unbleached Bread Flour
  • 2.25 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

Topping:

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp coarse sea salt
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted or spray butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Add the flour and sea salt. Mix until soft and smooth.
  3. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  5. Divide dough into 8 pieces.
  6. Roll each piece into a rope and shape into pretzels.
  7. Combine warm water and baking soda, then microwave for 1 minute.
  8. Dip each pretzel into the soda wash and place on a lined baking sheet.
  9. Sprinkle with coarse sea salt and let rest for 10 minutes.
  10. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
