Non-profit talks recognizing the signs a friend is struggling with substance abuse

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (TENNESSEE VALLEY LIVING) - Someone in your life may be battling privately with substance abuse! Jessica Nall and Catherine Lawson with the non-profit ‘Partnership for a Drug-Free Community’ joined Tennessee Valley Living to talk about the signs you need to look out for.

They include becoming unusually secretive, pulling away from family, and losing interest in activities that used to matter. They say, one sign by itself doesn’t necessarily mean someone is struggling with substance abuse, but several changes together may mean it’s time to start a conversation!

The non-profit’s 6th Annual ‘Pull’n for Recovery Firetruck Pull’ is happening this Saturday at Toyota Field. Proceeds will benefit the non-profit’s mission of providing prevention and treatment services to people throughout North Alabama. Find more opportunities to help them out here.
